If he's from a NetWare 5.x environment and is using IP as his primary protocol you should just be able to use the jet admin software to point him right to one of your neywork printers. May have to change his laptop's IP address but that's no biggie.
If he's using IPX and you're not, you may have to install IP on his machine and do the above. Again, shouldn't be a biggie. The Novell client won't see a server and shouldn't pose a problem. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Omilian [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2001 1:06 PM To: MSWinNT Discussions Subject: Printing from a laptop with Novell There is a consultant on site for our sales people that would like to connect to our network printer. He has specific software on his laptop, so copying a file to a disk wasn't an option. He is running Novell 5.X (Sorry, I don't know my Novell #s) and Windows 98. We are running nt 4.0 sp6a with HP laserjet printers and Jet Admin software for our network. Is there any way for him to log onto the network just to print from Novell (without doing major surgery to his laptop)? Or could I manully connect him to the printer via a printer cable? I'm not sure what protocol(s) he's running.
