Ok, I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to turn off print
notifications. Where on earth is this done? Is it a registry tweak?

I couldn't agree with both of you more. However, the print
notifications are coming from a different domain, which I do not
administer. Sure, I could call up the sysadmin and ask him to turn
them off, but I'd still like to know if there is a way to block
cross-domain notifications.

I could also turn off the messenger service on the workstation.
Seems with NT there are more workarounds then direct answers ;-)

I would agree with David. They are mostly ignored... plus they
really don't tell you when the print job is completed... only when
the job has left the print queue. We have printers with 4GB drives
that you may still have to wait 1/2 hour before your job prints.

Print notifications are generally useless... ask around the office
and I'll bet most people are either ambivalent to or actually hate
the notifications.

to be totally honest, I would just shut off the notifications.
Guaranteed that 90% of your users probably just get annoyed they pop
up. Users know that jobs print 99% of the time. If it's a big job,
wait longer.

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me resolve this problem.

We have a WAN with several trusted domains. Trouble is we have 2
users in different domains with the same username - SMITHR. I'm not
sure if the other users get this problem as well, but the SMITHR in
our domain gets the print notifications from the other domain's print
server when their SMITHR sends a print job.

What do we need to do to keep print notifications restricted within
the domain? I've never seen this happen before now and I'm really
puzzled.

Thanks for reading.
