The answer is it is no good to have a RAID 5 on a poor quality Array Controller. I have never had any problems with Array controllers. I have drives go bad, I replace them and rebuild. All while the computer is humming along doing its job.
Quality Array Controller $1,200 3 Drives for RAID 5 $900 Being able to replace and rebuild your array without the end user even knowing about it. So I will have to get one and try it. The question I have is what good is it if it is raided and I can't use it if one goes bad. I guess at least I have the data so that is good. Thanks everyone.
