Have to do something special. All depends on your RAID choice, whether level 5, 1 0 or 0+1 etc. Also entirely depends if you are doing software RAID or hardware raid. To answer your question, it isn't as simple as hot plugging the drive and poof you now have that much more room on your server. That would be nice though.
