Sounds like that machine is already TAXED

You can get a listing of all the Virus Definition Files from all the
machines and check the dates (they should all be the same.
Or
Use the BDC
Or
Configure the clients to automatically update from this server (instead of
Vice Versa) I know Mcafee does that.
Or
Create a Batch file to copy the .def and SW weekly (run it at a time when
your Backup is NOT running)

Subject: AntiVirus AutoUpdate

Goodday People,

I have a HP NT Server 4.0 SP6 550 Mhz and 384MB of RAM.
Running Command Antivirus Software (CSAV) on this machine. This Machine is
the Email Server (Exchange 5.5), it is also the
PDC on our network and Handles the nightly tape back ups.
I read the manual for CSAV for setting up an automatic update of all the
deffiles and software. It suggest to use a machine that everyone logs into
(PDC), at that point it will then check version numbers of the software and
deffiles. IN fear of taxing this machine to much, I am looking for another
solution (other than new AV software). Bottom line, I dont have the time to
go around checking virus updates for every workstation. Is there a way to do
this without using this server?
