Yep.  BIOS updates normally happen outside of the OS anyway, so the presence
or absense doesn't enter into it.  

Most companies will let you download a self-extracting utility that will
create a boot floppy that can be used to boot the computer, backup/update
the BIOS, and perform the CRC checks.

Check with your manufacturer to ensure that such an update is available for
your model...
