Try an LMHOST file specifying a server to authenticate to which is
located locally. Or block authentication traffic over the wan so they
local clients have to authenticate to their DC locally. Or if not
present, create a DC locally.

Subject: NT Authentication over a WAN

I have a WAN over multiple sites and my local NT4 clients are not
authenticating with the local DC's so logon is taking forever. Is there
a
way of forcing the local clients to look locally first?
