Tom,
Dameware should allow you to connect by IP or machine name. Assuming no IP
problems, when I have received the failed message before, it usually means
the Dameware service is not started and I/you do not have the privledges to
start it on that machine. Check the stupid things like logging in from a
different domain userid than is expected.

When I install and run Dameware for the first time on a server, I always
configure it to Manually start the service, and to stop the service on
disconnect to conserve resources incidentally.

Are you able to connect to your Named Internet with Dameware?
Do you have connectivity to the machine on both NICS<ping>?
Are you logging in with the right credentials <it is selectable in the
config>?

Hello Patrick,

thx, another Q:

I now have two NIC cards on my computer:
1. connected to Internet (Named Internet)
2. connected to NT (Named Private)

now I want to use Dameware to connect NT, failed, is there any setting
I ignored?

Best regards,
