I sent a reply about the "A lot of games wanted!" E-Mail, but I didn't
received it, so I'll suppose the EM was lost and no one received it. Thus,
some things may look like "deja vu" to those that had received it...
From the list of games, I have found the following and sent them to
FUNET:
- "Jump Jet" (AACKOSoft), sent to FUNET together with "Jet Fighter" and
"Jet Bomber", all by AACKOSoft (they really liked a "jet", didn't they?).
- "Akanbe Dragon", a chess game with "battle mode".
- "Elidon".
- "The Flitstones".
- "Jack The Nipper" and "Jack The Nipper 2".
- "Episode IV" (ASCII game, made in SCREEN 3) and "Zoom 909" (I found a
working version at home, lost among other games).
- "Topple Zip", "Valkyr" and "Vestron".
- "Mr. Gordon Goody".
- "Shark Hunter".
- "Star Quake".
- "Vaxol" (this is "broken" in 16 KB standard MSX binary files, so it must
be gathered to a ".ROM" file before being used by emulators).
- "Xanadu" (this is also splitted in 16 KB blocks).
Note: except for "Zoom 909", which I had to convert to ".ROM",
all other games are "disk versions", id est, they must be loaded from
disk by MSX BASIC command bload"filename.ext",r. Some works with
emulators, but others will work only with real MSX ("Jack The Nipper"
locks in almost all MSX2, turbo R and emulators - needs a few
debugging of the loading routines). Games with a ".BAS" file
should be loaded by them (the "JetBombr.BAS" needs an extra line,
"1 SCREEN2", if I'm not mistaken, so the openning screen will be
correctly loaded into graphics mode).
I couldn't locate my mirrors of "Come on, Picot" and "Turmoil".
"Blow Up" is stored in a disk about 100 km away from here, in my
home town (I'll bring it the next time I return there, if no one
uploads it first).
Other games in the list may be found at "ftp://jazz.snu.ac.kr/pub/msx".
Some disk mirrors are saved in a format with extension ".CP2". It's a
CopyIIPC (a protected disk copy utility for PC) file format. To use it,
take the file "copy2.lzh" in "pub/msx/util/pc" (I don't know if it works,
I have just took the file).
And now, my list of wanted games:
- Illusion City (the game can be found at "Jazz", but the first disk
archieve is broken)
- Space Invaders (original, please, not one of the hundred versions)
- Ghost & Goblins (no, not "Demonia", but the real one, released with
the original Japanese name "Makaimura" [village of demons]).
- MSX Disc Magazines (similar to Compile's Disc Stations, but released
by Takeru Soft. and the MSX Magazine team - included some really
interesting games, like "Space Sardine", a blend of "Space Manbow" and
"Darius" [pronounced "daraias", a classical arcade game]).
This is all I can remember by now. Thanks to all...
