This happens because DC remains high all the time, which means "disk not
changed".

If you start with a disk formatted under DOS1, the turbo R boots in DOS1
mode. DOS1 doesn't cache the bootsector and directory, so the fact that the
disk change signal doesn't work is not a problem then.

The PC drive I used had neither. I modified it to return READY on pin 34
and DC on pin 2. Actually, I used the ground instead of DC, so the turbo R
re-reads the bootsector + directory every time. And my READY signal is not
very good either, because it returns "ready" too soon: before the motor is
spinning fast enough. So the new drive works, but is very slow.

There is no seperate reset signal for DC. I think one of the normal signals
resets DC, but I don't know which signal does that. My guess would be
MOTOR_ON or READY. Does anyone know for sure?
