No! On MSX2 main ROM is also either in slot 0 (if slot 0 is not
extended)
or in slot 0-0 if slot 0 is extended. The reason is main ROM must be
switched into address space after reset, when all the slot select
registers are set to 0.

No this is perfectly OK, just a little bit slower (needs to
execute large piece of code to write SSR)
And it writes to FFFF location in slot 0 - but who cares anyway?
