I'm looking for an accurate pitch to tone registers value translation table
for PSG.
Also, it seems that writing to the MSB pitch registers re-triggers the wave
causing an annoying "pop". I've only managed to get smooth pitch
transitions by changing the fine pitch. Is there any way to overcome this?
What's the recommended method to setup PSG for 4-bit PCM playback? Setting
the lowest pitch? Disabling both noise & tone in the mixer?
What are the actual differences between the PSG used on the MSX (General
Instruments AY-3-8190) and the one used on the ST (Yamaha YM-2149)?
Did you know that some classic arcade coin-ops actually used two standard
PSGs hooked to two different audio filter circuits? And I was wondering
what kind of complex audio ICs they were using to get those smooth tones
and was hoping one day someone would equip home computers with them!
