I used to use this method before, but it does not work with Turbo-R.
The correct method to determine how many memory segments you have in a
given slot is as follows:
- Switch the slot on, for example, page 2.
- For S=3d0 to 255
* Switch segment S on page 2
* Save old valeu of #8000
* Put value S on #8000
- Switch segment 0 on page 2
- Read value V from #8000
- The number of segments is 256-V. If you get 0, it is 256 segments
actually.
- Restore the old #8000 values with another 0-255 loop.
