32 MB partitions is indeed the maximum size of partitions on the MSX,
because it uses the FAT12 system (FAT16 on the MSX has been a log time
wish... there already is FAT16-support for the MegaSCSI, if I'm not
mistaking)...

In the current version of IDEFDISK, 32 MB isn't only the MAXIMUM size, but
also the ONLY size. Support for smaller partitions has not yet been made.
But unless you have a very small harddisk (like my previous one of 125 MB;
3MB too little for a 4th partition!), it won't make that much difference.

You should choose "automatic partitionizing" (it's in the main menu), and
then "write partitiontable", and finally "format (or re-initialize, dunno
exactly anymore) partitions"...

Inbetween, you can check out the "show partition table" option to see what
you're doing.

I have no experience with that (my only CD-Rom drive is 2-speed drive which
had a IDE-compatible connector but wasn't IDE-compatible but some native
Creative protocol, so I still haven't got a CD-Rom drive connected to my
MSX).

Hmmm...
