This is only a temporary situation. UZIX developers already showed interest
in making drivers for this interface.

Nobody is stopping you from making an FTP client or mail reader with a more
friendly user interface. Just because the plain versions exist, doesn't
mean you have to use them. I use a mail program with a GUI and I do most
FTP-ing using drag-and-drop.

About telnet, I'm not sure that telnet needs more UI. What did you have in
mind?


May I be so bold to conclude that you want to continue your project because
you like to make it? Nothing wrong with that, by the way, it's a typical
trait of a hobby programmer. But from a practical point of view, extending
UZIX would take less work to achieve the same features.
