Hi everybody,

It seems the cable than links an MSX
computer (DIN with 8 pins) to a Philips
monitor (green screen, audio and video
jacks) is not on sale in any electronic
store in my city. I have checked the
connector diagram at www.faq.msxnet.org
and have some doubts. I'm not an
electronics "guru".
I understand the diagram shows the rear
view where cables must be soldered.

Monitor connector Philips

pin 7 NC
pin 6 +12V
pin 3 AUDIO
pin 8 NC
pin 1 +5V
pin 5 CVBS (color video PAL)
pin 4 Ys (monochrome)
pin 2 gnd ('luminance')

My guess is I should use these pins:

pin #3 for the audio
pin #4 because it's a green monochrome monitor
pin #2 GND

Now, my doubt is should I use the
+12V pin? Or the +5V pin? Should I use
the GND pin? What should I solder the
GND pin with? What should I solder the
+12V or +5V pin with? Should I use any
other pin?

Please, any help is welcome! I want my
monitor back into life :)

Thanks in advance,

Manuel
