I prefer to use YYYY/MM/DD:
- it's the least confusing since YYYY/DD/MM doesn't exist
- if you sort it alphabetically it's also sorted chronologically
- in the case of MSX: who could object to using the Japanese standard? ;)

The date was intended as a version identifier, it would be ugly to split that 
into 3 different fields.
