I've tested it on an nms-8280: writing 82 do 7FFDh caused the "in use" led
of drive a to go on. I had written C9h (RET) to FD9Fh.

I'll have to check this again; unfortunately  I don't have acces to my Sony stuff
for another month or two. :(
