(BMSX Association is slowly starting the new hardware developments. The first
(Bstep is to make an MSX cartridge reader for PC. This USB device will make it
(Bpossible to use real MSX cartridges directly from a PC based MSX emulator.
(BThe MSX association wants to work together with non-Japanese developers, to
(Bachieve a world-standard rom reader. So, if Sunrise or other hardware
(Bdevelopers are willing to participate, you can contact MSX association.
(BThe software interface to control the USB MSX cartridge reader will be made
(Bpublicly available, so that besides MSX player also other MSX emulators can
(Bsupport the device.

(BThe USB MSX cartridge reader is not only interesting for MSX emulators but it
(Bis also the first step towards a new MSX. If a new MSX will be developed,
(Bthen the new MSX will not have MSX cartridge slots. But it will have a USB
(Bport. So then the USB MSX cartridge reader can be used in conjunction with
(Bthe new MSX to play old ROM games.
