I believe 8kB RAM is the minimum MSX1 requirement.
Not really, an MSX1 can boot with only 4kb.
I haven't inspected the BIOS source code closely enough to say for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if the PPI was not necessary. Ofcourse, no keyboard without it, so the question is really how minimal do you need to go?
PPI is required, the boot uses port A8 as a generic register, without this register it doesn't boot. If you want to go without slots, you can remove the PPI, but then you must place a 8-bit register in port A8. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ricardo Bittencourt http://www.mundobizarro.tk [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mantenha a paz: Doe um Pretzel para o Bush ------ Unio contra o forward - crie suas proprias piadas ------ _______________________________________________ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx
