I have two questions regarding Illusion City. 1. I searched by the kanji title (Genei Toshi) of this game, and noticed there's one French novel whose Japanese title is "Genei Toshi no Toporojii". Its original title is "Topologie d'une cite fantome". While title of the English translated version that is "Topology of a Phantom City" does not include "illusion", I suspect it's possible that the Illusion City developers were inspired from this novel.
More details are in; http://www.babelguides.com/view/work/4799 While the novel's detective style synopsis does not hint any resemblance to Illusion City (future oriental magicn' cyberpunk), I think there might be certain connection, considering one line in Illusion City suggests the developer's liking to French stuff. If anyone knows anything about this novel, particularly the original French version, I'll be glad to hear. 2. Has anyone ever visited Hong Kong?
