I just want to warn everyone about the patch tool for the Sorcerian English
translation, which can be found amongst the several patches on the Delta
Soft homepage...

It does not include any kind of HD drive check, nor does it do a
checksum/crc32 check before actually patching, so that makes it already
inherently dangerous to run from HD (as the target drive can't be specified
either). However, on top of that, when pressing CTRL-STOP while the tool is
running (it doesn't patch immediately), it doesn't terminate the program but
instead continues patching!

Because of this my HD's first partition got messed up. Fortunately there
wasn't any real vital data on it, but still, it gave me a lot of trouble.

Lessons which should be learned from this:
- if you make a patch tool, include crc checks in it.
- use the DOS I/O routines so that keys like CTRL-STOP work as they should.
- make an option for a target drive (not everyone has only 1 drive)

Hope no one else will run into trouble.

Cheers,

~Grauw
