Yes, but some CF cards give a lot of problems. I am using 16 MB CFs, and they are the best for my needs. I had some strange errors with other cards too! If it is bigger than 32 MB you should create partitions, so you will have to boot from floppy.

And, by the way, IDE CF won't work in your MSX2+, because it needs 128 KB RAM at least in order to work properly (due to MSXDOS2, that needs 128 KB).

If memory serves well, you should press DEL or some key to bypass CF bootup
and boot normally from diskette. With the fdisk you should do the
partitioning and then all should work normally.
