[msysGit] regarding git cheetah, why not fork tortoisehg

Regarding git cheetah, why not fork tortoisehg, seeing as the basic
interface for hg and git are so similar?
Wouldn't this give us a big leg up?
How about forking the Eclipse plugin for hg as well?
