I don't think it is worth it. Just ship a modified msys-1.0.dll. Keep in mind that the name msys-1.0.dll is magic in the eyes of msys-1.0.dll's exec() implementation: If a .exe that it is about to exec() is linked against msys-1.0.dll is spawned in a special way, in particular, all the msys_p2w() magic is turned off (and the exec()ed .exe somehow notices that it was exec()ed by an MSYS program and omits the corresponding msys_w2p()). -- Hannes
