so i'm guessing the black freeride is open, it was just the red when i was there.
i thought the same about the box, so i want to ride it before someone does themself some damage (i could even be that person) and it gets removed ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marc Fox" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Mountain Biking in the North East of the UK" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 19, 2005 5:10 PM Subject: Re: [mtbne-l] xmas eve ride At GT yesterday, the freeride stuff is 'not bad'. The red is just a series of elongated dirt jumps with flat tops, which come in handy when you are raggy like me. It takes a bit of bottle and a few goes to make them flow and your speed is dramatically reduced by landing on the table and there is not enough time to get some pedal strokes in. The black is kinda like, well a freeride route, whatever the f'ck that means. It's log ride after log ride then a three tier wooden drop into a steep descent that spits you into left then right wooden wall rides (optional) and down to the finish where there is a huge fun box (which will be removed I'm sure in the future)to greet you. Someone will attempt to jump in clear if they haven't already The place is littered with bairns on jump bikes. Saw one of the little b'stards jump on the top of the fun box into manual then wheelie drop off the back in one seamless motion. Sickening skills. Maybe that's where they get the word 'sick' from. Probably going up to Innerleithen during Wednesday on my day off, unless I've got jobs to finish off at home.
