I'm using mu4e @ f37c6f0, with no special configuration for address autocompletion, which I presume results in this behavior:
http://www.djcbsoftware.nl/code/mu/mu4e/Address-autocompletion.html#Address-autocompletion A few questions: - Where does email address autocomplete information come from: the Xapian index? - A few frequent correspondents have an unwanted spelling of full name [1] and/or email address, which results in multiple identities for the same person in my email history. Is there a pre-compose-hook (or could one be created) to rewrite email addresses in any of To: From: CC:, BCC:? For my purposes, a map with a few dozen bad->good entries would solve the problem nicely. - If I were to modify email headers (with appropriate precautions) to create fewer variations of Full Name, would Xapain index pick up those changes to Maildir messages, and supply updated address autocompletion transparently for new email compose buffers? Thanks, Jeff [1] Full name spelling can vary: - a repeat of email address as full name, - an unwanted formatting e.g. "Last, First", "First Last (Job Title)" etc. Reasons can vary: - Hosted Exchange account glitch, IT does not know how to fix - IT policy or automation, which can change. - Inconsistent mobile device and computer configuration. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mu-discuss" group.
