What a fantastic end to the match!! Great result as it puts the pressure back on Arsenal tomorrow (not that West Ham are likely to turn up, but hey), and puts us well clear of Chelsea.
I've always thought Forlan was a good player, but that finish was amazing to say it was his weaker foot. And Veron only had 5 mins, but managed to save us. If anyone wants to continue the Blanc v Brown argument, I think this game should prove me correct. Brown almost threw the game away letting a ball run through to Zola, and completely missed another one in the area which almost cost us a goal. He should also have been marking Gudjohnsen for thier goal. He made several other mistakes too, but I'll not go on. People make a lot of Blanc's pace (or lack thereof), but Brown was outrun at least twice by Zola!! He's 37! I still can't believe Cudducini saved that header from Ruud though, I'm sure I saw it cross the line!! lol I wonder if Fergie noticed we had one shot on target in the first half? Then he throws Solksjaer up front, and we hit the post and had one blocked from Scholes in about the first 7 mins of the second half! Of course then we stuck Solksjaer back into midfield and went worse again!! Grrrr. I know I've been one of the leading voices for selling Giggs and said it was ok to boo him in the Blackburn match, but booing him while he warms up is just idiotic. Boo him if he doesn't try, fine, but to do it before he's even on the pitch is pointless and stupid. He did seem to try a lot harder than usual and ran at defenders a lot more, although he's still holding the ball up and laying it off sometimes when he should run. There was also one incident where Forlan ran round about 20 yards keeping the ball, cut it inside for Giggs, and he stood still and looked at it while a Chelsea player ran and got it. That's what I think Giggs is normally booed for, not his form, but his lack of effort. You can't help being in bad form (look at Ruud), but you can help not trying as hard as is possible. Hopefully the second half will show that we don't need two defensive midfielders in (sorry Phil, out you go!), and that two strikers up front is better. All in all a great performance, but it would have been a lot more comfortable if we'd played 4-4-2 the whole game.
