Fully understandable Terry.

I guess it's really just mainly the Irish fans & a few other admirers of
International football that see a benefit of Keano playing International
football.

The thing about it is though, leaving my loyalty to Ireland to one side,
Keane is the big man for the big occasion. In the 1994 WC he played in a
formation he didn't like (dare I go mentioning a 4-5-1) with Tommy Coyne up
top & a cantral midfield of Townsend, Keano & Sheridan. Roy was supeb in
that formation. He was superb against Italy in the Giants Stadium, superb in
every game he played. His role was to get forward onto the end of balls won
by Coyne up front & he did it to great effect.

Under McCarthy his role was different & none of us will ever forget that run
from the edge of Portugal's box to the edge of Ireland's box to prevent a
goal. Roy simply demonstrates at this level that he is probably, no
definitely the best midfielder in Europe. I mean they say Zidane is a class
act, but who was Zidane meant to be marking when we scored our first goal in
Turin in 1999? Roy, that's who. He probably sh*t in his pants at the
thoughts of competing for an aerial ball with Keano.

Great player, hope to see him win a CL medal this coming May.

I hope not. At his age, and with all his injury problems, the last
thing Roy needs is to be dragged away to flog his guts out trying to
rescue Ireland from their poor start.
