A couple of questions on last night's matches:
1. Why did the referee not book or send off the Juve keeper for
bringing down Ruud in the box? Ruud was through, the keeper was the
last man, and he impeded Ruud's run to goal. Now I can't really blame
the ref for not stopping play because it was only fair to let Scholes
net his sitter. Unfortunately Paul had a momentary case of the Gigg
(le)s and completely f*cked his chance. But that giraffe of a twat
should have AT THE LEAST gone back to the keeper at the next stop in
play and booked the Italian. Enough on that
2. I have been under the impression since it was impressed on me at
school-boy level that you do NOT play the ball when you are on yer
ass, as you will be called for dangerous play. So then, how could a
referee who was about 3 feet from Raul allow play to continue after:
a) he backed into the Dortmund defender, b) pushed the defender back,
c) fell on his arse, d) rotated his body, and e) poked the ball
through the keeper's legs and into the back of the net?
Now, I have a natural bias against Real, but that's not the point.
Any substance to my moans?
