I think there's another important point here, and that's WHY did we
not have any strikers other than Solksjaer in reserve?

A: Because we chose not to buy any when we had the chance. It's fine
saying "the targets we wanted weren't available", but if you need
someone, you need someone, and you buy someone. You're not telling
me in the whole of the world there wasn't one halfway decent striker
we couldn't have brought in? Even if it was only on loan at least
we'd have had the option of playing him.

Another point no-one seems to have brought up is when we DID
(finally) bring Solksjaer on, he stuck him out on the wing!!!!

And one of the worlds best wingers was playing full back!!!

It's like a joke tactic that you'd do if you could rearrange the
opponents team!!

Surely the only sensible thing would have been Keane to drop back
more into CB, Scholes into MF and Solksjaer up front? That would
have left Giggs and Scholes free to push forward and still 2
strikers. How could supposedly brilliant manager(s) not see this?

But when he first arrived we had a poor team who weren't doing
anything. Last season he started with Champions and turned them into
a 3rd place team. Why?

Ever heard the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

The league was sacrificed last year to try to get SAF his European
Cup final in Glasgow. Winning the leage should have been the
priority (for a record 4th time in a row), but he changed everything
to concentrate on Europe.

All our best performances this season have come with two strikers up
front (Newcastle, Liverpool etc).

How long is this "transition" likely to last? We've been at it for
almost two whole seasons and are far worse than we were before with
better players!!

Does anyone else watches Dugarry running rings round people while
only playing for Birmingham and wonder why, when we were in desperate
need of a stop-gap striker (especially one who could replicate
Cantona's role) we didn't both to get him for FREE??
