Does this ring any bells? - Mondays newspaper headline = Man Utd chase X player from X club...Tuesdays headline = Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverscum, Arse, Real Madrid decide they were all interested in same player all along!
The sad thing is that it seems most players we are 'chasing' don't want to join us; Ronaldinho will go to Real as chief bench warmer (at least he can chat to Becks while they watch the matches eh?), Kewell says 'anyone but united', Robinson wants Arsenal or even Villa!, Kluivert is in talks with Newcastle and the league of nations (london branch), Duff wants liverscum, Mexes loves Arse-ne, Quaresma was only gonna join cause of Queiroz (three guesses which bench he'll be on next season). If we had any sense we'd have stipulated that real had to leave Ronnie if we (practically) gave them Becks OR when we let Queiroz go for nowt without any arguments but no, they are still gonna take him, and if not Chelsea will get him, speaking of which, they remind me of a council estate family who won the lottery and haven't a clue what to do with it (so they just chase whoever Sir Alex wants). Sorry this is long but I'm a frustrated guy lol, at the start of the close season I was excited, we'd won the league, everyone and their dogs were being linked to us but now we've lost Becks, our asst manager and a certain amount of credibility. My hopes for the coming season - 1. Dwight-a-like Ronnie joins Real and wastes his career getting splinters up his arse. 2. Kewell misses out and has to stay at Leeds..gets relegated (after a season in the reserves) and loses his way. 3. Real decide they don't need a defence anyway, sign Totti, Owen and Crespo as central defenders and go into administration. 4. War breaks out in London and all Arse's french team hide under a blanket until it's over. 5. cryptonite is removed from Veron's locker and his superpowers return permanently - does anyone remember this guy was one of THE best in the world (in fact he was my favourite player to watch before joining United!!!!!! - along with Zidane). 6. United stop wasting the whole close season beating a dead horse with Ronaldwightho and sign some players who are less in demand but just as good (D'allessandro, Quaresma, Aghahowa, Claudio Lopez etc) It shows how much people have lost respect for us as a buying club when Inter are claiming they will sign veron and Giggs from us....what is going on? A final thought...what about signing Dugarry? he'd be PERFECT behind Ruud as the new Cantona, he was written off by many (myself included) but he's proved himself at Birmingham and he's in the Cantona or Teddy mold.
