Far better for United to do a deal in private and announce it as complete rather than go public and end up with an auction. I would expect that Kenyon was given a list of 'wanted players' with an alternative thrown in. Unfortunately we are not playing Championship Manager, so patience is needed. Bellion's contract expired at midnight on June 30th, and he signed July 1st, less than 24 hours later. I know he was out of contract, but that only misses agreeing a fee. I'm worried we're going to end up with nobody (else) like we did last summer after messing about with Escude for weeks instead of just making a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
