Good grief - do stop posting this stuff. Here I am again, sitting with
tears rolling down the face. What we missed doesn't bear thinking
about.

A lot of folk forget that the Munich tragedy was a blow to England as
well as Utd. I have always remained convinced that England had a good
chance in the 1958 World Cup with Duncan, Roger and Tommy therein. I
wouldn't have ruled out Eddie Colman as a likely as well. If I recall
correctly, England beat Brazil 4-2 at Wembley late in 1957 and it should
have been more than that. With Utd's lads aboard, I would have fancied
then against anybody. Not out of the question that England would have
been a shout for '58 and '62 and we know what happened with '66! With
Duncan and Tommy in particular, it wouldn't have been so 'workmanlike'
in 1966!

PS Do keep posting those things - wonderful stuff. I'll have to live
with the tears!

"We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out."
