UNITED SET TO SIGN DEFOE Manchester United looks set to sign West Ham United striker Jermaine Defoe, when the transfer window opens again in January. According to the Sunday People, Defoe's agents are working on a deal that will bring the talented England U21 striker to the Premiership champions. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been keen on signing Defoe for a long time, because of his pace and his ability to score goals. Defoe is not Champions League-tied either, something that strengthens the rumors around a possible move to United. Its believed that Ferguson, will put Defoe alongside Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy in the front, a move that will further weaken the opertunity for Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan and French striker David Bellion to get a place in the starting line up. www.ontheminute.com http://www.red11.org/news ------------------------ Yahoo!
