Look at the quality of postings before Ed joined the list, and look at it with Ed around. I have no personal issue with Ed, and have not complained to the committee about him, but his postings do contain a negative element that is neither defensible on a List such as this, or likely to generate positive feedback from die-hard Reds who cannot fathom where he is coming from.
If I slagged off a United player for not scoring, or not preventing a goal every week, or bemoaned the fact we did not win by at least 5 goals per game, or routinely criticised the manager and his tactics, I would be naive not to expect a backlash as the consequence. The same applies to anyone here. This is not a general soccer mailing list where you expect to see this kind of thing on a regular basis. Nobody can pretend the team is perfect, or that we win every game. Only those with CM can live in that world. We all have moans to air, and that is not a bad thing. The problem with Ed is that his glass will ALWAYS be half-empty, he will always accentuate the bad rather than the good. A balanced viewpoint would not produce anything like the hostility, but unfortunately that is not forthcoming from him. The committee has acted for the benefit of the List as a whole, not merely at the bidding of a few vociferous protesters.
