16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit, 128-bit disebut *arsitektur CPU*, dalam arti berapa 'lebar' unit data yang dikelola CPU pada 1 waktunya.
x86 adalah istilah untuk *CPU instruction set*, yaitu perangkat instruksi CPU, khususnya yang dikembangkan oleh Intel. x64 sebetulnya istilah yang salah. Yang benar adalah *x86-64*, yaitu perangkat instruksi CPU buatan Intel (dan yang kompatibel dengan Intel) yang mendukung arsitektur CPU 64-bit. ( x86-64 sebetulnya ada 2 jenis: *AMD64* dan EMT64. AMD64 adalah buatan *AMD sebagai pelopor CPU x86 64-bit di dunia*.
