Thanks, I only have an additional small change made which clears the
textbox after adding, but I'll put that in later

You should first shelve your changes, do the update, then unshelve.
If you haven't changed anything in the meantime you should get no
conflicts, and the unshelve will just check that everything is good
and make no changes.
