Just write the .ics and .vcs in the right place on the iPod filesystem. Of course, that require HFS+ or FAT32 support in your kernel depending on the version of iPod you do have. Since iPod can't change anything (haven't touched v3, so can't tell for this one, but previous version did), the conduit should be straightforward to write. Hub -- "<erno> hm.
