What is the current situation for someone wanting to synchronise a nokia 3650 phone with a Gnome desktop (debian 3 unstable on an iBook)? I read in the archives about problems with Nokia's quirky implementation of SyncML which sounds a pain - is this going to stop syncing being possible? I have a working bluetooth setup through the bluez stack and gnome-bluetooth packages, and have succesfully installed RemoteSync on my phone. This is probably barking up the wrong tree but are there any phone-side solutions to this, like a GNU application which uses a more open protocol? Or is the protocol sort of hard-wired into the phone? (I'm new to this as you can tell :-) )
My laptop is unpowered at the moment because its charger flew to Edinburgh :-( But before it did I was trying to compile multisync through apt-get --compile source (as I'm on powerpc architecture) and I was getting a huge load of dependencies. Will these be resolved if I just install evolution-dev?
Keep up the good work! Wish I'd bought P800 now :-)
Best wishes, Matt Kay
