First time I tried simply getting rid of the 'TYPE=' strings, without
changing the 3.0 to 2.1. It worked.

Anyway, if I re-upload my contacts to the phone via BT obex file
transfer and then issue a sync request, the contacts get duplicated
within Evo2, so that now I have 4-5 elements for every contact I have,
identical to one another! The duplicate or near duplicate identification
does not work anymore! This is very annoying even for attempting new
solutions to the problem we are discussing about!

Then, as said before, the change-triggered auto-sync-upon-changes-in-evo
does not work anymore since evo2. Only periodic or user-initiated sync
works. This is another issue that should be dealt with.
