I'm new at this and attempting to connect a motorola a920 to ximian evolution using syncml. When I follow albatorsk's notes exactly, ie. the dund command listed below with the "noauth" argument, it says I need root permission. So if I take out the nauth argument I get the following. I want to be able to do the syncing as user so hopefully it will find the correct ximian databases to sync with. Can anyone tell me what is wrong or how to get around the nauth problem?

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/dev$ /usr/bin/dund --listen --channel 1 --msdun 169.254.1.68:169.254.1.1 460800 ms-dns 169.254.1.68 lock --persist --nodetach
dund[15811]: Bluetooth DUN daemon
dund[15815]: New connection from 00:0A:28:2A:79:08
pppd: The remote system is required to authenticate itself
pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.
dund[15811]: Accept failed. Interrupted system call(4)

The other option I might try is a direct cable connection using Henik's notes. What do you mean "Give the Syncml databases some descriptive names" in section 4.1? I thought syncml would find the ximian datbases automatically? What have I missed. Where do I create these databases, and what settings do I need to change on the phone?

Thanks for all the help and Best Regards

Jim
