I have tried for months on end to have multisync functioning, however
without success. (See my mails starting in Januari 2005 until October
2006). I think I've some knowledge of Linux and of programming but this
program defeats me.
I have a AMD 64-bit. FC5 Linux-2.6.18. Synce runs flawlessly. I have the
contents of my PDA (HP IPAQ 1940) immediately in a nautilus window as
soon as I connect (cable).
However, multisync 0.90 gave errors as it could not use the plugins. I
downgraded to multisync 0.82 qhich doesn't give errors but simply
doesn't work.
For multisync 0.82 (which I compiled without a problem) I have the
plugins libevolution2_sync.so, libsyncml_plugin.so, and file_sync.so
in /usr/local/lib/multisync.
However, multisync 0.82 says it only has "Ximian Evolution 2" and
"SyncML" as plugins.
When I tried to compile the evolution plugin, it informed me that the
plugin was for evo 1.2 (I work with 2.6). So there are all sorts of
discrepancies and problems which I cannot solve.
(I also have a directory /usr/lib64/opensync/plugins/ where evo2_sync,
file_sync and gpe_sync can be found.
Multisync 0.90 I obtained from the fedora FC5 repository.

I would like to know where I can get the information to compile the
various components for multisync, what the mystery is around opensync
being something completely different and what are all the different
components necessary to let multisync work: in short how can I
synchronize my PDA!.
Hopefully somebody will take the time to help me out of this mess.
Joep
