Joep,

I have just confirmed 'libopensync' is not required when multisync .82 is compiled from source.

Joep,

I compiled multisync .82 on an x86 box running fc6, installed, and successfully synced evo2 with Zaurus opie. There were a couple of speed bumps, first check the ./configure output for both mulitsync AND the plugins. There were several additional packages required. (yum got a good workout) Second, read the README for both plugins and multisync carefully. The plugins are not built automatically, they have to be built separately.

Dan,
Thanks for your speedy answer. I was away so couldn't react sooner.
Well, my experiences are different but it can well be that multisync
won't work reliably in 64-bit systems, probably due to the fact that
there is confusion about the directories where the different componens
are stored.
I have multisync plugins in "/usr/lib64/opensync/plugins/" and
"/usr/local/lib/multisync/" where the plugins are stored.
But I will try to start fresh and compile it myself not relying on the
updates from Fedora as they definitively don't work.
I also don't know is the programs of synCE interfere with multisync.
With the synCE programs I can read and write to my PDA without any
problem.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
Joep
