Hi amir,
using CID.... I am able to see the image in a body of email, this I have
tested in outlook and its is working fine.
now my problem is how to display image in other web based mail interface
like indiatimes or hotmail. instead of image alt text is appearing there
properly and image is there in attachment.

Just for example
on indiatimes path for image is
http://email.indiatimes.com/cgi-bin/HowToBeMoreImpressive.jpg where image is
not there. if I click on attachment I see image path
http://email.indiatimes.com/cgi-bin/demail.cgi/HowToBeMoreImpressive.jpg?log
in=kpise~gX95fGc3MD&command=download&save=1&id=587.....it it means something
is there which is missing.

I think by providing the UrlContentLocation property or providing alternate
source it can be done.

I will try ...n mail you.

Kishor

Hi
Emails with embedded images have src attribute set with CID, i.e <img
src="cid : IMAGE_IDENTIFIER" ></img> This cid is nothing but unique id for
the attached image. System.Web.Mail.MailAttachment class doen't allow us to
get this id from the attachment and hence we can not embed image in the html
mail using dotnet mail classes. you have two option to acomplish this,
either going for commercial mail component or generate your own class
library, obviouly second one is too time consuming as it prompt you to learn
protocol, read related RFPs etc...
anyway you can check this, http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/smtpemailer.asp
this person has developed such kind of classes. may be it will help you out
