The main use of webservices is to support various devices, various platforms. As a part of webservices you can have some critical validations, authentications, authorizations. Web services have some limitatations on how much data it can dispense. I would suggest that it would be ideal if you use webservices to like login validations, user specific details which are of minimal size.
