Talking about the Exception handling strategy for some N-Tier web/windows application
..... Suppose I have Presentation layer (.aspx page )
Business logic layer( some class in C# )
Data access layer (agaian in c#) A button on user interface is clicked ....which
invokes method of business logic class GetFullName( )
which internally invokes some method of Data Access layer Class GetFullNameDAO( )
Suppose at this stage it is detected that connection to Data base has failed and
exception is thrown/raised. Now what are the best way and best places to do the
following. 1) Writin Log file (shud be done at Businees logic layer or DAO layer)
2) shud exception be propogated up to aspx page
3) setting customError tag in web.config ......how does this work.....it comes in to
picture at end of all happening. Can some one share the best practice. Thanks
