David has been helping me today. I at least got past the pcscd start problem and had success with testpcsc. Now I am in the process of installing MuscleCardPlugin.

I don't know for the build but the ./configure execution seams OK.
Try to start "pcscd --debug stdout"

Of course. Have a look at the official web site [1]. You haev RPM for
SuSE and RedHat.

Patches". Unfortunately the link is no more valid. The new one is [2].
