[Muscle] using SCR 331 on os x 10.28 and panther

We have the federal smart card software from apple which is based upon 
muscle i am told.  but after 10.2.3 it stopped working.  after looking 
around i found new drivers on the SCR website but it seems to require i 
do an update to the eprom on the reader to use it.  thats not a problem 
but before i do something irreversable i wanted to know if this was 
required?

i tried this with the new 10.3 after installing the card software from 
the third disk, but it doesnt seem to have a driver. i found the source 
for the driver off the muscle website.  but it appears to need the 
eprom flash as well.

so my questions are

1. should i do the update to the reader
2. what driver is the correct one to work with both 10.2.8 and 10.3??
