Please start "pcscd -a -f -d stdout" in order to see also the apdu exchange between the card and the reader. In the logs attached I don't see an error from PC/SC Lite. Perhaps you may activate some debug information in the driver for the SPR532 (see the README)? :-)

Perhaps someone on the list can send you a binary version for this driver on MacOS X. The usb.h is available in the tarball of the libusb-0.1.7. [1] Have you install it?
